Surge protector, also called lightning arrester, is an electronic device that provides safety protection for various electronic equipment, instruments and communication lines. When a spike current or voltage suddenly occurs in an electrical circuit or communication line due to external interference, the surge protector can conduct and shunt in a very short time, thereby preventing the surge from damaging other equipment in the circuit.
CHT1 series surge protector (hereinafter referred to as SPD) is mainly used for lightning protection of photovoltaic low-voltage DC power distribution system. The product adopts a new design, with a maximum continuous working voltage of up to 1500V, which can effectively prevent lightning current from damaging photovoltaic supporting facilities such as solar panels, photovoltaic junction boxes, DC distribution cabinets and inverters. CHT1 series SPD has common mode (MC) and differential mode (MD) protection modes. The product complies with IEC61643-1 and GB50057-2010 standards.

Its working principle is to limit the voltage within a safe range by directing surge voltage into the ground wire or absorbing surge energy.
